Before first use, fully charge the supplied NP-BN1 battery. Insert the battery into the charger and plug the charger into a power outlet. The charging indicator will illuminate and turn off when charging is complete.

Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera. Insert the charged battery with the correct orientation until it clicks into place. Insert a compatible SD/SDHC memory card (or Memory Stick Duo) into the slot until it locks. Close the cover securely.
