Tries ZIP/TAR parsers and stream peel (GZ/BZ2/XZ/LZMA). If 7z-wasm loads, it also tries universal extraction on most archive signatures.

Notes: 7z-wasm unlocks many formats (7z/rar/iso/cab/msi/exe/ace/arj/lzh/zoo/…) but can still fail on encrypted, damaged, or highly proprietary files.

Limits protect against archive bombs / runaway recursion. “Junk names” filters out weird pseudo-paths (e.g. control chars).

Extension is not required—sniffing + best-effort engine tries decide what works.
