5. Gosod a Gosod

Follow these steps for proper installation of your low voltage transformer:

  1. Dewiswch leoliad: Select a suitable outdoor location for the transformer. It should be close to a 120V AC outdoor power outlet and within reach of your landscape lighting. Ensure the photocell sensor has unobstructed access to ambient light for accurate dusk-to-dawn operation.
  2. Gosod y trawsnewidydd: Securely mount the transformer to a wall or post using appropriate hardware (not included). Ensure it is mounted vertically with the output terminals facing downwards to prevent water ingress.
  3. Connect Landscape Lights:
    • Gather your low voltage landscape lights. Ensure the total wattage of all connected lights does not exceed 100W. For example, you can connect up to 20 x 5W lights, 10 x 10W lights, or 5 x 20W lights.
    • Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of your low voltage lighting cables.
    • Connect the stripped ends of your lighting cables to the low voltage output terminals on the transformer. Ensure a secure connection.
  4. Position the Photocell Sensor: Extend the photocell sensor cord and position the sensor in an area that receives natural light, free from obstruction by structures or artificial light sources that could interfere with its operation.
  5. Cysylltu â Power: Once all low voltage connections are made and secured, plug the transformer's power cord into a grounded 120V AC outdoor outlet.
