This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your HEIMAN Z-Wave Carbon Monoxide Detector. This device is designed to detect carbon monoxide (CO) gas and alert you to its presence, integrating with your Z-Wave smart home system for enhanced safety.
The HEIMAN Z-Wave Carbon Monoxide Detector is a compact, high-quality device, recognized as a Reddot winner in 2017. It operates on the Z-Wave 868.42 MHz frequency, suitable for the Europe version, and is compatible with various Z-Wave gateways such as Zipato, Fibaro, Vera, and SmartThings.

- This device is a carbon monoxide detector and is not designed to detect smoke, fire, or other gases.
- Do not paint the detector. Paint can clog the sensor openings and prevent the unit from functioning properly.
- Do not block the ventilation openings on the detector.
- Test the detector regularly as described in the "Operating" section.
- The detector requires a CR123A battery. Use only recommended battery types.

3. Gosod a Gosod
3.1 Gosod Batri
- Twist the base of the detector counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
- Insert one CR123A battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Remove the protective pull tab if present.
- Close the battery compartment by aligning the base and twisting clockwise until it clicks securely.

3.2 Gosod y Synhwyrydd
The detector can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and mixes readily with it. For optimal detection, install the detector:
- In or near sleeping areas.
- On every level of your home.
- At least 1.5 meters (5 feet) from fuel-burning appliances.
- Avoid mounting in corners, near windows, doors, or areas with high airflow.
- Dewiswch leoliad addas.
- Use the provided screws and anchors to secure the mounting plate to the wall or ceiling.
- Attach the detector to the mounting plate by aligning it and twisting clockwise until it locks into place.

3.3 Z-Wave Network Inclusion/Exclusion
To integrate the detector into your Z-Wave network:
- Put your Z-Wave gateway into inclusion (pairing) mode. Refer to your gateway's manual for specific instructions.
- Press the Z-Wave button on the detector three times quickly. The detector will send an inclusion request to the gateway.
- Once successfully included, the detector will appear in your gateway's device list.
- To exclude the device, put your Z-Wave gateway into exclusion mode and press the Z-Wave button on the detector three times quickly.
4. Gweithrediad
4.1 LED Indicators and Sound Patterns
The detector uses a combination of LED flashes and beeps to indicate its status:
- Cynhesu: Red LED flashes and four beeps.

- Normal Detection: Single beep every 50 seconds.

4.2 Profi'r Synhwyrydd
It is recommended to test your CO detector weekly to ensure proper operation.

- The detector will emit a series of loud beeps and the LED will flash, indicating that the alarm and sensor are functioning correctly.
- Release the button. The detector will return to normal operation.

5.1 Batri Newydd
The detector is powered by one CR123A battery with an estimated lifespan of 3 years. When the battery is low, the detector will emit two beeps every 10 seconds. Replace the battery immediately when this occurs.
- Twist the base of the detector counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.

- Close the battery compartment by twisting clockwise until it clicks securely.
- Test the detector after battery replacement.
5.2 Glanhau
Clean the detector regularly to prevent dust and debris from affecting its performance.
