5. Gosod a Gosod

5.1 Lleoliad

  • Position the pump on a firm, level, and dry surface.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the pump to prevent overheating.
  • Protect the pump from direct exposure to weather elements (rain, direct sunlight, frost).
  • Keep the pump as close as possible to the water source to minimize suction lift and maximize efficiency.

5.2 Pibellau Cysylltu

The pump is equipped with standard inch fittings for both suction and discharge pipes.

  • Pibell Sugno: Connect a rigid, airtight suction pipe (1 inch diameter) to the pump's inlet. Ensure all connections are sealed to prevent air leaks, which can affect priming and pump performance. A foot valve with a strainer should be installed at the end of the suction pipe submerged in the water source to prevent debris from entering the pump and to maintain prime.
  • Pibell Rhyddhau: Connect a discharge pipe (1 inch diameter) to the pump's outlet. Use the provided three-way brass fitting, pressure switch, and pressure gauge as part of your water supply system. Ensure all connections are secure.

5.3 Preimio'r Pwmp

This is a self-priming pump, but initial priming is crucial for proper operation. Before first use or after the pump has run dry:

  1. Ensure the suction pipe is fully submerged in the water source.
  2. Locate the priming plug on the top of the pump casing.
  3. Unscrew the priming plug and slowly fill the pump casing with clean water until it overflows.
  4. Replace and securely tighten the priming plug.
  5. Open any valves on the discharge side to allow air to escape during startup.

5.4 Cysylltiad Trydanol

  • Connect the pump's power cord to a grounded electrical outlet (220-240V, 50Hz).
  • Ensure the electrical circuit is protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) for added safety.

6. Gweithrediad

6.1 Dechrau'r Pwmp

  1. Ensure the pump has been properly primed (Section 5.3).
  2. Verify all pipe connections are secure and leak-free.
  3. Plug the pump into the power outlet. The pump will start automatically if connected to an automated system with a pressure switch.
  4. Observe the pressure gauge. The pressure should rise as the pump builds pressure.
  5. If the pump does not draw water within a few minutes, switch it off, re-prime, and check for air leaks in the suction line.

6.2 Gweithrediad Awtomatig

When integrated into a water supply system with the included pressure switch, the pump will automatically start when water pressure drops (e.g., when a tap is opened) and stop when the desired pressure is reached (e.g., when the tap is closed). The 24-liter cylindrical tank helps maintain consistent pressure and reduces pump cycling.

6.3 Stopio'r Pwmp

For temporary shutdown, close all water outlets. The pump will stop automatically if operating in an automated system. For complete shutdown or extended periods of non-use, unplug the pump from the power supply.

7. cynnal

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance.

7.2 Glanhau

Sychwch y tu allan i'r pwmp gyda hysbysebamp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the motor's ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.

7.3 Winterization (for cold climates)

If the pump is exposed to freezing temperatures, it must be drained to prevent damage:

  1. Datgysylltwch y cyflenwad pŵer.
  2. Drain all water from the pump casing by unscrewing the drain plug (if present) or by tilting the pump.
  3. Disconnect the suction and discharge pipes and drain them completely.
  4. Storiwch y pwmp mewn lleoliad sych, heb rew.
