- Dadbacio: Tynnwch y lefel optegol a'r holl ategolion yn ofalus o'r cas cario caled.
- Mowntio: Securely mount the optical level onto a stable tripod (not included) using the standard 5/8-11 thread. Ensure the tripod legs are spread wide and firmly planted on the ground.
- Lefelu Garw: Adjust the tripod legs to bring the circular bubble vial roughly to the center. The GOL 32 is equipped with a circular bubble vial and a 90-degree mirror for easy and fast setup.
- Lefelu Manwl: Use the three precision leveling screws on the instrument's base to bring the circular bubble precisely into the center. This activates the self-leveling compensator, which automatically fine-tunes the level for accurate readings. The compensator has a transport lock to protect the pendulum mechanism when the instrument is moved or stored.
- Focusing the Reticle: Look through the eyepiece and turn the eyepiece focusing ring until the crosshairs appear sharp and clear.
- Focusing on the Target: Aim the optical level towards your target (e.g., a leveling rod). Turn the main focusing knob until the target appears sharp and clear.

5. Operating the Optical Level
The BOSCH GOL 32 is designed for precise measurement of elevation differences and horizontal angles.
- Taking a Reading: Once the instrument is leveled and focused, align the crosshairs with the desired point on the leveling rod. Read the value indicated by the central horizontal crosshair. The large aperture lens allows more light for a sharper image, improving reading accuracy.
- Using Crosshairs and Stadia Lines: The optical level offers both horizontal and vertical crosshairs for precise alignment. The stadia lines (two additional horizontal lines, one above and one below the central crosshair) can be used to estimate distances. To estimate distance, read the values at the upper and lower stadia lines, subtract the lower reading from the upper reading, and multiply the result by 100.
- Measuring Horizontal Angles: The instrument features a horizontal circle with easy-to-read graduations. Rotate the instrument to align the 0-degree mark with your initial reference point. Then, rotate the instrument to your target point and read the angle on the horizontal circle. The horizontal drive screw allows for precise angle positioning.
- Cywirdeb: The GOL 32 is accurate up to +/- 1/16 inch at 100 feet, providing reliable measurements for professional applications.

- Glanhau: After each use, wipe down the instrument with a soft, dry cloth. For lenses, use a lens brush or a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storio: Always store the optical level in its hard carrying case when not in use. Ensure the transport lock for the compensator is engaged (this typically happens automatically when placed in the case). Store in a dry, temperature-controlled environment.
- Gwydnwch: The optical level is IP54 rated, providing protection against dust and splashing water. While durable, avoid submerging the instrument or exposing it to heavy rain for extended periods.
- Gwiriad graddnodi: Periodically check the calibration of your optical level. This involves performing a two-peg test to ensure the line of sight is truly horizontal. If adjustments are needed, refer to the included tool kit and follow precise calibration procedures, or contact a qualified service center.
