1. Cynnyrch Drosview
The PAC TL-PTG2 is a versatile tool designed for troubleshooting and testing audio systems. It combines a tone generator, a speaker polarity tester, and an RCA cable tester into a single compact unit. This device assists in setting system levels, checking speaker crossover points, verifying connections, and identifying speaker polarity.
Nodweddion Allweddol:
- Tone Generator with variable frequency (13 Hz to 10,000 Hz) and output (0-8 volts).
- 9V speaker popper for visual speaker connection polarity testing.
- RCA cable testing capability.
- Connections via supplied RCA cables or alligator clips.
- Automatic shutoff for extended battery life.
- Compact design with rotary controls for easy adjustments.

2. Gosod
Before operating the TL-PTG2, ensure a fresh 9V battery is installed. The device features an auto shutoff function after 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
2.1 Gosod Batri
- Lleolwch yr adran batri ar gefn yr uned.
- Agorwch y clawr compartment.
- Connect a 9V battery to the battery clip, observing correct polarity.
- Rhowch y batri yn y compartment a chau'r clawr yn ddiogel.
2.2 Cysylltu â System Sain
The TL-PTG2 offers two primary methods for connecting to an audio system:
- Cysylltiadau RCA: Use the supplied RCA cable to connect the TL-PTG2's RCA output to the input of an amplifier or other audio component.
- Clipiau Aligator: For direct speaker or wiring connections, attach the supplied alligator clips to the appropriate terminals on the TL-PTG2 and then to the speaker wires or terminals. Ensure secure connections to prevent accidental disconnections or short circuits.

3. Cyfarwyddiadau Gweithredu
The TL-PTG2 features intuitive controls for various testing functions.
3.1 Pweru Ymlaen/Diffodd
- I bweru ar yr uned, pwyswch y "Press On" button. The power indicator LED will illuminate.
- The unit will automatically power off after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity. To manually power off, disconnect the battery.
3.2 Tone Generator Function
The tone generator is used for setting system levels, checking crossover points, and tracing signals.
- Sicrhewch fod yr uned wedi'i phweru ymlaen.
- Defnyddiwch y "13Hz - 10kHz" rotary knob to select the desired frequency for the tone.
- Adjust the output level using the "0V - 8V P-P" rotary knob. The output range is 0-8 volts peak-to-peak.
- Connect the TL-PTG2 to the audio system using either RCA or alligator clips as described in Section 2.2.
- Observe the audio output from the speakers or system components to verify signal presence and frequency response.
3.3 Speaker Polarity Tester Function
This function helps visually confirm speaker connection polarity.
- Connect the TL-PTG2 to the speaker using the alligator clips. Ensure the clips are securely attached to the speaker terminals.
- Pwyswch a dal y "Speaker Test (9VDC)" botwm.
- Observe the speaker cone movement. A correctly wired speaker will show the cone moving outwards (positive excursion) when the button is pressed. If the cone moves inwards, the polarity is reversed.
- Release the button once polarity is confirmed. Avoid holding the button for extended periods.
3.4 RCA Cable Tester Function
The RCA cable tester verifies the continuity of RCA cables.
- Connect one end of the RCA cable to be tested to the "RCA End (1)" input on the TL-PTG2.
- Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the "RCA End (2)" mewnbwn.
- If the RCA cable is functional and has continuity, the "RCA Cable Test Pass" Bydd LED yn goleuo.
- If the LED does not illuminate, the cable may be faulty (open circuit) or improperly connected.
4. cynnal
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your TL-PTG2.
- Amnewid Batri: Replace the 9V battery when the power indicator LED dims or the unit's performance degrades. Always use a fresh alkaline 9V battery.
- Glanhau: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the casing a chydrannau mewnol.
- Storio: Store the TL-PTG2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
- Gofal Cebl: Inspect RCA cables and alligator clips regularly for signs of wear or damage. Replace damaged accessories to ensure accurate testing and safety.
5. Datrys Problemau
If you encounter issues with your TL-PTG2, refer to the following troubleshooting guide:
| Problem | Achos Posibl | Ateb |
|---|---|---|
| Nid yw'r uned yn pweru ymlaen. | Batri 9V marw neu wedi'i osod yn amhriodol. | Check battery connection and replace with a fresh 9V battery. |
| No tone output. | Low battery; output level set to minimum; incorrect connections. | Replace battery; increase "0V - 8V P-P" knob; verify RCA/alligator clip connections. |
| Speaker cone does not move or moves incorrectly during polarity test. | Incorrect speaker wiring; faulty speaker; loose alligator clip connection. | Verify speaker wiring; ensure secure alligator clip connections; test with a known good speaker. |
| RCA Cable Test Pass LED does not illuminate. | Faulty RCA cable (open circuit); improper connection. | Ensure both ends of the RCA cable are fully inserted; try a different RCA cable. |
| Unit automatically shuts off too quickly. | This is normal behavior (5-minute auto shutoff). | Press the "Press On" button again to reactivate. |
