2.2 Detaching the Lens

3.1 Focus Mode Switch (M/A and M)

  • M/A (Autofocus with Manual Override): This mode allows for quick switching between autofocus and manual focus. You can manually adjust focus even when the camera is in autofocus mode by rotating the focus ring.
  • M (Manual Focus): In this mode, focus is adjusted manually by rotating the focus ring. This is ideal for precise focusing in specific situations or when autofocus struggles.

3.3 Aperture Control

The lens features a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 across its entire zoom range. Aperture is controlled via the camera body. Refer to your camera's manual for specific instructions on adjusting aperture settings.

  • Materion Autofocus: Ensure the lens is set to M/A mode and the camera's focus mode is correctly configured. Check for sufficient light and contrast in your subject. If issues persist, try cleaning the lens and camera contacts.
  • Image Softness: Verify that the lens is properly attached and clean. Check your camera's shutter speed and aperture settings. Using a tripod can help eliminate camera shake.
